# New upcoming feature: preCICE support

In the merge request [!409](https://gitlab.com/openCFS/cfs/-/merge_requests/409) a [preCICE](https://precice.org/) adapter will be brought to openCFS! This exiting feature will enable users to couple openCFS to a palette of other software packages, extending the overall simulation capabilities drastically. At the moment, support for [OpenFOAM](https://www.openfoam.com/) will be shipped with many test cases when the merge request lands. Happy coupling!
